Bike Hire for Ace Race QEP

Bike hire has been a high demand source for the past two races, the 3rd race will be not exception and we have teamed up with M’s Cycle Hire http://www.m-cyclehire.co.uk/
Bikes are offered for £20 and £30. Please contact Maria on 07852 986 165 or John on 07852 986 163 and say you are Ace Races when booking. The good news is that the bikes will be delivered and collected from ACE Base event village at QECP.  Please book early to avoid disappointment.

For the 3rd Race of 2009 we will be returning for the 2nd year to Hampshire's biggest country park... the area boasts over 20 miles of trails for walkers, cyclists and horse riders... Butser Hill National Nature Reserve and the highest point on the South Downs. 1,400 acres of open access woodland and down land within the East Hampshire Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.  Not to mention red hot adventure racing action. Whatever your ability or level, this is going to be a great adventure event.

Ace Race Bracknell Accomplished

Congratulations to all competitors who took part and completed the 2nd Race in the 2009 ACE RACE Series.  It was a wet n’ dry action packed day and much fun was had by all taking part, with Challenge A, the Bike/Swim across the pond, winning the prize of the favourite part of the course – five riders managed to clear it without a total dunking!

Last Saturday ACE race was a tremendous day of action, with a staggering array of route choices and frenetic in-and-out activity to collect all the checkpoints in an optimal matter. Though optimal was elusive this weekend, with many people reporting navigational howlers – it’s an intricate place that takes no prisoners in the competition. But hey, what a beautiful place to get lost!

Now that the year is drawing to a close it’s worth reflecting back on 2008 and looking ahead to 2009. Consider this, as we go into our 13th year of adventure events: ACE Races has nurtured nearly 6500 adventure racers and has travelled a long way in this time; many of those that started with a 1 Day ACE race have gone on to become champions and ambassadors for the sport far and wide. 2009 looks to be a promising year for adventure racing with ACE Races continuing to provide “Adventure,” “Challenge” and “Endurance” in an exciting and fast-paced 1 day adventure race format.

Dirty Weekend 2 in the Lakes – ACE Races

On friday evening, if registering only please head for the lower car park, register, then leave again within an hour

The weather of late has been testing our resolve to go ahead with this event, but only wrt the Car Parking situation. The events themselves are in fine shape, and the courses are being rigged day and night in these week days. Peter Strong and Paul Noble are enduring some ‘interesting weather’ and we’d hate for that to go unappreciated.

Dirty Weekend 2 Awaits You

Deep in the forest an event venue is stirring. Grizedale Forest Park, the Forestry Commission and the Dirty Weekend Team have been grooming a field ready for your arrival. This will be alongside existing facilities at the Grizedale Centre. With added Wilf’s, retail therapy and refreshments what more could you want from an adventure race…..other than some amazing autumnal outdoors action of course. Fresh from July’s superb inaugural Dirty Weekend in the Scottish Borders and the rave reviews we have received from last month’s Bracknell 1 day event we thought we would just let you know a little more about the NEW Dirty Weekend adventure event taking place this 4/5 October at Grizedale in the Southern Lake District and the final 1 day event of the summer, this 30th August in the South Downs – a NEW venue for ACE Racing.

The new location is less than 2 miles from the original starting location and is now based at the Collingwood College in Bagshot.

The man at the helm for the 1-day Series is Scott Alexander - even if you don't know Scott by name then you're bound to have seen him at previous adventure events grafting away with logistics and helping on the course. Scott knows these events inside out and will be tweaking a few more things to make them even more rewarding and building on the very popular upgrades-in-adventure from the '07 Series.
